After purchasing the land for the school, we started our greenhouse, planting seeds, and growing different varieties of trees including fruit trees to later give to members of our community to sustain themselves. We help community members to set up their own gardens with our seeds and trees, and we provide them with ongoing training and support. This allows them to eat nutritious food and to also sell what they harvest for income.
The school site is full of fruit trees and vegetables, has a plant nursery, and a field where we are growing corn. We teach the children how to complete the whole process of growing crops.
We also have goats that we are raising to breed to be able to provide a goat for families that are in desperate need at a later stage.
We are hoping that, in the future, this project may become a source of income for the school if we can buy/breed more goats and increase our harvest. Also, we could use the crops to provide lunch for our students.
